    Plaquenil or methotrexate

Hello hope everyone is well just a quick question, i have been on methotrexate for 2 months increasing from 7.5 to 15 and now to 25mg.weekly now been given plaquenil 400mg daily, has anyone else been on this mixture and has it worked or how long should i wait to see if it works. I am on both methotrexate and plaquenil. I have been on plaquenil for over a year and a half and methotrexate since September. I have had no side effects from either one. I get my eyes checked every six months and I am now at once a month on blood work for my liver enzymes used to be every 2 weeks.

I also want to be sure that I'm taking a drug that will slow/stop the progression of the disease. With Plaquenil, the possibility of permanent vision damage scares me.

Immune & Autoimmune - Lupus Plaquenil - when to take the. Hi, I saw a rheumy for the first time last week, and he prescribed plaquenil, 200 mg twice a day. Didn't diagnose with Lupus yet, but said I definitely have something autoimmune going on and the plaq will help with the fatigue. He warned that it could take 2-6 months, though, which is what I've read here too.
