    Dec 15, 2010 hello hope everyone is well just a quick question, i have been on methotrexate for 2 months increasing from 7.5 to 15 and now to 25mg.weekly now been given plaquenil 400mg daily, has anyone else been on this mixture and has it worked or how long should i wait to see if it works. Apr 26, 2007 I was on Methotrexate w/Plaquenil for about 4 months and was feeling great on it however my ALT, AST, and ALP started to elevate. I was taken off the Plaquenil but they were still abnormal. I was taken off everything and tested again, my ALT and AST are normal but my ALP is still elevated. I am now back to just Plaquenil. Hydroxychloroquine is usually taken with food or milk to prevent stomach upset. The dosage and length of treatment are based on your medical condition and response to therapy. In children, dosage is also based on weight.
